The name comes from a hill on the Simonsberg mountain where a cannon was fired in the 17th and 18th centuries to signal the arrival of ships in Table Bay. The winery began producing wine in 1973 and has since achieved great acclaim. Kanonkop Pinotage, Black Label 2018, is an outstanding single vineyard wine from Kanonkop Wine Estate in Stellenbosch, South Africa. Made
