Several have stated that Lagavulin is one of the strongest whiskeys on the market, it is at least among the 3 4 whiskeys that have the biggest peat pepper smoke attack when you put it in your mouth. The 16 year old version of Lagavulin is a member of UDV's (Diageo) classic malt series, where it represents the Islay region. This makes it terrific with its deep peat smoke
